In Laughlin’s debut novel, a Florida fisherman becomes the target of drug smugglers.

After ex-Marine Clint McGuire escaped a tragic past in Ohio, he settled into a quiet life in the Florida Keys. During an
evening fishing trip, Clint hears gunfire from a yacht across the water and rushes to give aid. Once onboard, he finds
several dead men—and one very alive, beautiful woman named Ericka. He rescues her just before the yacht explodes,
and Clint and Ericka suddenly find themselves on the run from Colombian drug runners. Clint finds shelter by using his
knowledge of the best fishing holes in and around the Keys, and he enlists the help of his fisherman friends—a top-notch
crew of former military special forces and local police and drug enforcement personnel. Romance blooms between Clint
and Ericka as they sail away from the Keys and bounce from island to island in the Bahamas trying to elude the cocaine
smugglers. In the end, Clint and his friends form their own secret unit with a mission to stop criminals who are beyond
the reach of the law. Laughlin’s knowledge of fishing, boating, weaponry and the Caribbean adds vivid detail and
picturesque description to the story. The well-plotted story delivers several action-packed sequences and
makes for an enjoyable, light read. Its ending also leaves plenty of room for a sequel. Anyone who enjoys the ability of
ex-military of high quality taking on the bad boys and winning will enjoy the ending of this novel and the ones to follow.

An entertaining adventure tale of drugs, romance, death and treasure.
